My artwork shows an amulet in a dark alley in a small city next to a hill at night. This amulet messes with the lighting in ways that were thought to be impossible. The title of the piece is [\] [\] [\] [\], the name just plays into the narrative that this amulet is bending laws of the universe. Some elements or principles in this artwork include highlights, shading and a lot of colored pencil work. I thought of the art on my own just by randomly thinking about stories, at first I thought about what happens when a person interacts with it, but then I realised that I draw people worse than I can draw a tin can. So I decided to draw it in an alley, waiting for a person to come and see it. I used color pencils, pencil, and sharpie to create it. In all honesty I was inspired by nothing in this artwork, I just thought of some ideas and this came up. My artwork doesn’t express a social issue or any emotions.Some of my goals for this artwork were to create a piece that looks good but is made out of only colored pencil. I also wanted to try and do more highlights on my art. I’m sure that I reached the goals as I have used highlights in the light that the amulet gives off and I made the piece look nice even though it was made of colored pencil. My overall thoughts on this artwork are that I could have done better, but I am pretty proud of what I made, as I have tried to incorporate new things into the piece.
