Artists Statement

My artwork has a light blue background with a yellow outline around the flower. The subject matter of this painting is the Anemone. I created this painting by using the technique wet on dry.  I used large paint brushes to color the background and smaller paintbrushes for the yellow outline.  I used dark colors to illustrate the petals of the anemone. My artwork was inspired by a school project and I chose my specific flower because I liked how it visually look.  My goals as an artist are to grow better at painting.  This piece helped me reach my goals because it shows me how even though it might not be the best, my painting skills are still improving. One thing I learned about this project is that anemones prefer to live on shaded vertical rock walls. Anemones can live singly or in groups. This piece will help influence how I will do other painting projects in the future.
