Hair Evidence Lab

While analyzing several types of hair, I have concluded it can become very tedious and time consuming. I was unaware of the construction of a single strand of hair. Consisting mainly of cuticle, cortex, and medulla. While looking with magnification, the major parts composing a strand of hair can be seen, including dogs and cats. The opacity, thickness, and varying colors in a strand of hair varies in different organism. The hair follicle of a human hair stood out. The follicle must be present in order to carry on with DNA analysis. I was unaware the hair follicle was pointed and translucent. Also, unaware all follicles are present while a fetus. At first i found it difficult to distinguish characteristics between different organisms. While time moved on, it became the easiest.
