After looking through all the Stockton cases, one thing really stood out to me. Throughout the cases very little ballistics evidence was used. For example, in the Gun Number 7 case the only piece of evidence found was a small copper jacket fragment, matching the small piece to the .44 caliber revolver.
Also Case Number 33 used very little ballistics evidence, as all it took was a small brass case was found in an alleyway in Stockton, California, to lead to two arrests and closure for a family. After reading these cases I found that ballistics evidence can be key in convicting criminals. In cases like this, where multiple shootings occur on the same day and time, ballistics evidence is absolutely crucial in organizing the crime (Finding out who fire what and such) and ultimately linking criminals to the crime.
