My beginning essential question for my project is, “What determines the inheritance of Tay Sach’s Disease?” I am interested in this topic because in the future I plan to work with infants as a nurse; although this disease is rare, it still occurs. Unfortunately, Tay Sach’s is a very abrupt disease and infants with this disorder seem normal for the first 3-6 months of life until symptoms arise. It is interesting how almost instantly babies are affected as their nerve cells are destroyed progressively.
