Artist Statement
I made this piece of artwork to show what living efficiently would look like. I choose to draw windmills and solar panels as my efficient energy sources. They are a plausible option for free energy we could use today. I choose to use colored pencil and pen as my materials because they have a clean and sleek feeling which makes me think of a clean and clear environment. I would change the color of the house and remove the chimney. I feel this would make the whole piece look cleaner and more realistic. My artwork is very colorful and has a happy upbeat emotion. I learned that changing to clean energy is difficult and doesn’t immediately make a difference. To get my image from our earth would take years and this piece helped me realize that.
