Hair Evidence Lab

Hair analysis was interesting, but it was hard to tell the differences between samples. The samples all looked different, but there were not many noticeable differences. The root and end were the easiest to identify. The thickness of the hair was the main difference along with color. The size of the medulla stood out along with the color it was.

The hardest difference to observe was the transparency of the strand. They all had similar levels of transparency, so it was difficult to tell them apart just from that aspect.

It was interesting to look and analyze hair samples and learn about all the different parts. Identifying strands of hair was hard for me to do, but it was fascinating to learn about how hair can be identified. It seemed like a fairly simple way to analyze them because you only really need a microscope. It was a lot harder to do than I thought.
