Homocystinuria

My beginning essential question for my project is “Could the disease Homocystinuria potentially over time grow to be not as rare at it is now?” I am interested in this topic because a friend of mine has this genetic disease and I thought it would be interesting to learn more about it. There are thousands of genetic disease, this being one of the rarest, and it would be wicked snazzy to educate myself on something I have no relation to, or have ever had to deal with in my life. I also picked this topic to help me understand more on what she and other people have to go through.
