Women in Engineering Conference & the MGHPCC

Last week, students from Groton-Dunstable Regional High School, and some parents accompanited myself and Mrs. McCracken on a two part field trip.  We started the day at the Women in Engineering Conference at UMass Amherst.  A big thank you to Renee Fall and
Paula Sturdevant Rees for helping to make this event a reality.  The girls participated in some of the sessions, a yummy lunch, and listening to both the student panel and former alum and keynote speaker, Carol Craig, CEO of Craig Technologies.

Drug Deliver: Chemical Engineering students and faculty.

Chibitronics! Introduction to Electrical Engineering through Art: SWE and Electrical & Computer Engineering students.

The Lotus Effect & Capillary Origami: Engineering of Liquid – Solid Interactions. Professor Jonathan Rothstein, Mechanical Engineering.

Afterwards, we traveled south to the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center in Holyoke for a tour of the data center taking advantage of the free tours they offer to schools.  Thanks for Jim Culbert for the tour of the facility.IMG_7113 IMG_7117 IMG_7118 IMG_7129 IMG_7132 IMG_7136 IMG_7138 IMG_7139IMG_7141
