Ariana Ghamsari Grade 7 Day 3 second half

For my watercolor artwork I drew and painted a Hibiscus (Rose mallows) flower. It was black in the center of the flower, pink around the black and then a fading yellow to orange around the pink on the edges of the flower. The name of my project was the Rosemallows watercolor flower. My flower I drew was in an outdoor environment and in the background of the flower I drew a wooden bench with some grass on the ground and a pretty blue sky.

For my artwork I used watercolors and a picture of a Rosemallow flower and copied (drew) a flower that looked very similar to a rosemallow. First I did a draft and then took a piece of thick paper to use as a good watercolor paper sheet and on a window I used the light to copy my draft on my watercolor paper by putting the watercolor paper on top of my draft to “redraw” my draft then I later painted it with water colors.

I really like bright and tropical flowers so I asked Mrs.Hansen what type of flowers those would be and she recommended me a  Rose Mallows flower. I used bright colors in my artwork to express emotions that are happy and fun!

One of my goals as an artist is to definitely use more exciting colors but not too many. My artwork helped me achieve this goal because I used minimal colors but fun and colorful ones.

One thing I learned from my artwork was that you can use water colors in multiple ways. My final piece is pretty much what I imagined but a little more messy then I had imagined. I think this artwork will influence my other artworks but using a lot of bright colors but not too much and to also be a bit more delicate next time.
