During my time spent analyzing several different types of hair, I found that Hair Evidence analyzation is a challenging, tedious, and time consuming endeavor. It was challenging to focus the microscope appropriately to get a clear image of the hair, this also took a lot of time. Once I was able to get a clear image what I saw was amazing. Never have I seen such a detailed picture of hair and it was extremely interesting to compare my hair to that of other species such as a dog and cat. All the strands of hair had varying opacity, thickness, and colors from species to species. I had never seen or been aware of the complete structure of a hair follicle such as cuticle, cortex, and medulla. My partners and I hair follicle stood out to me. I was not aware that human hair follicles were pointed and translucent like mine. In addition to this I also learned that all follicles are present while a human is still a fetus. Overall I enjoyed examining various hair follicles, although it was challenging in the beginning I eventually did get the hang of it.
